Selena Gomez and Michelle Obama: Whose ride wins?
By admin. Posted in Nascar | 2 Comments »What does a celebrity and the 1st lady have in common? Both Selena Gomez and Michelle Obama own cars but doesn’t drive them. Surprisingly, they have the same car brand, the Ford Escape Hybrid.
At least Selena Gomez has her man
Selena Gomez received the keys to her brand new black 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid for her 16th birthday on July 22nd. Excited that she has her own car, her path of becoming a licensed driver failed. She announced on Conan O’Brien on The Tonight Show that she flunked her California’s driver’s test at 17. She was unable to pass the written part of the driving test. “It’s hard! I’m from Texas, so of course it was easy – we had 10 questions there. Here, they give you 50 questions, and… I didn’t pass!”
On the other hand, Selena Gomez still tries to be a good role model for the teens out there by starring her and her mom in a State Farm commercial, promoting safe driving for the insurance company. She emphasizes the importance of being a safe driver by talking about keeping her seat belt on at all times, never texting or talking on the phone while driving, and never having too many friends in the car.
It’s alright darling. You still have your boyfriend, Justin Bieber, to drive you around in the Range Rover that he received from Usher as a gift. So, don’t worry about not passing your driver’s test.
Michelle Obama on the other hand…
Michelle Obama doesn’t necessarily “own” a car. She and Barack Obama own a family car, the 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid. (Just one year older than Selena Gomez). Compared to McCain’s family, who currently has 13 cars, the Obama family has one.
I guess this doesn’t really matter because being an American 1st lady, she gets to travel almost anywhere. In their own private jets, she and her husband has traveled to nine countries. After being elected President, the family drives the Presidential State Car, a Cadillac-badged limousine. As 1st lady, a car doesn’t really matter, does it?
